singer (chansonnier), born in Vittel while his parents resided in Nancy, studied philosophy but abandoned it for music, 25.sep.1899 he had organized a concours with 6 singers and pianist Emile Lassailly at the reopening of Cabaret des Arts Boulevard de Clichy in Paris, 27.jul.1901 Louis Auguin and chansonniers Xavier Privas, Dominique Bonnoud, Vincent Hyspa, Mme de Villers and pianist Emile Lassailly gave a concert at the Casino in Contrexeville near Vittel, 19.may.1902 he was one of the six chansonniers who gave an adieu concert for their comrades chansonniers du Cabaret des Arts Numa Bles and Lucien Boyer who would soon depart for a world tour, 1902 residing at 71 Rue Caulaincourt, heartbroken by an unhappy love he began to drink heavily, one day on the boulevards he went completely mad from alcohol and was arrested like a criminal and locked up at the psychiatric hospital Sainte-Anne 1 Rue Cabanis where he committed suicide ; son of mining engineer Alexandre Edgard Ernest Auguin (Vittel 1844-) and Marie Claire Klein (Vittel 1846-)
