pianist, also used the pseudonyms Alexis Maryon; Mary Maryon; Gavin Hope; Maryon Essex; Carmer Maryon, 15.aug.1869 baptized at St Mary Islington while residing in Braintree, 1871-1881 residing with his parents and 2 servants (nurse, housemaid) at 52+54 Bank Street in Braintree, aged 5 studied piano, aged 8 organ, aged 14 organist of the parish church in Braintree, 1891 studied piano with Max Pauer in Dresden, fugue and orchestration with Gustav Jensen and composition with Franz Wullner at Koln Conservatory, 1892 made his first visit to the USA presenting himself as count Jean Edouard d'Aulby del Borghetto of Rome Italy belonging to the Italian family Borghetti but using the name d'Aulby inherited from his mother's side, claimed that Stravinsky had been his pupil, otherwise he claimed that he was the son of the late count d'Aulby of France and came to America from his home Castel de la Tour in Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire and he was allied with the royal houses of Lusignan through her royal highness the late Princess Marie, that his Marcotone method could translate tone into color which even gave him worldwide attention, despite all this inconsistent nonsense he remained forever known in America as count who could make tones visible with colors, 1894 entered the Royal Academy of Music where he studied piano with Oscar Beringer, harmony, counterpoint and composition with Ebenezer Prout and George Macfarren, 1896 studied Chopin with I. Libich in Paris, 1901 he was with his wife and 3 children in England, 1915 settled with wife and 4 children in New York, 1915-1919 as director of his own Conservatory residing with wife and 4 children at 154 Union Street in Montclair New Jersey, 1918-1920 as musician and composer d'Aulby residing with wife and 4 children at 336 West 95th Street in Manhattan, 1925 idem with 2 daughters, 1930 idem but as Maryon-d'Aulby and only with his wife, 1933 returned to London because his wife became mentally ill and was taken as inmate at Rockland State mental Hospital in Orangetown until her death [rem: in my opinion they had better taken him there, he had been mentally ill for all his life], 1939-1942 as music teacher Edward Maryon residing as temporary war time resident in Cheltenham Gloucestershire ; son of master tailor employer John Edward Daulby (Wiltshire, Mere bap.25.aug.1816-12.oct.1893 Essex, Stisted) and amateur singer/pianist Marian/Marion Elizabeth Rutton (London Clerkenwell 4.aug.1840-) ; 7.mar.1895 at Trinity Church on Broadway New York he married Francisca Monti Lunt (Massachusetts, Boston 1.nov.1869-12.jan.1947 New York, Orangetown) whereafter she was called countess d'Aulby ; son Guidonem Georgium Joannem De Lusignan 'Guy' (Massachusetts, Scituate 10.jun.1896-), son Francesco 'Frank' (Sussex, Brighton 14.aug.1898-), dau Isolde (Sussex, Brighton 10.nov.1900-), dau Sylvia (France, Tours 8.nov.1902-)
