Bach, Nicolas Gottlibe 5.may.1803-a1868 Russia, Moscow - France, ?Paris
pianist, while still residing in Moscow he studied piano under Pierre Joseph Zimmermann at the Conservatoire de Paris, 1819 at his very first examination he immediately obtained the 1er prix piano, piano teacher in Paris, 1865 residing at 8 rue Castellane in Paris, 4.may.1865 his son Leon gave him a beautifully carved spinet manufactured April 1564 in Rome, that night in his sleep at his bedside he saw a man with a long beard, rounded shoes, very wide trousers, a jerkin with wide sleeves, a large collar around the neck and a pointed hat with wide brim, the man said: your possession belonged to me, I often used it to distract my master King Henry III, he composed a tune with lyrics he liked to sing and I played the spinet, whenever he was sad he was humming his romance, so to distract, I played a sarabande of my composition he loved, when the man took place at the spinet and started singing these two compositions with great expression, Bach woke up, the following morning on his bed he found a music page of a very fine writing and microscopic notes, later at his piano trying to decipher the music he noticed the romance, lyrics and sarabande were exactly consistent with those which the man in his dream had sung, Bach claimed that the words and music of the manuscript were completely foreign to him and the story appeared in journals on spiritism and occultism, the manuscript has also been transcribed and published by several other composers, 1.sep.1865 he was lender to the Exposition de l'Union Centrale des beaux-arts at Palais des Champs-Elysees visited by the Emperor that day ; gr.grandson of JS Bach ; father of Leon Bach I

text of the air by Henry III, on the manuscript found by Nicolas Gottlibe Bach :
J'ay perdu celle
Pour quy j'avais tant d'amour
E le sy belle
Avoit pour moy chaque jour
Faveur nouvelle
Et nouveau desir
Oh! ouy sans elle
Me faut mourir!
