Bachi (Bachy) (lat: Bacchius, Bacchus), Jean (Joannes) de ??-bef.29.jan.1557 France, ? - Austria, Vienna
alto singer, March 1554 until death as Johann Bachy alto singer in the musical chapel of Ferdinand I Emperor of Austria, in Gerber 1812 erroneously listed in italian as Giovanni de Bachi, only Fetis knew that Jean de Bachi was a french composer (moreover there is no reason to doubt that De Bachi is french), Eitner gives the name most reliably as Joannes de Bachi derived from all the manuscripts he has seen, RISM is useless because they don't give the names as they are written on the manuscripts
