violinist, organist, studied with Hugh Bond and William Jackson in Exeter, aged 17 he came under the patronage of the Earl of Uxbridge in London where he studied with Cramer and Dussek, 1794 organist of St Mary's Church in Stafford, 5.mar.1795 he was placed under restriction as to the use of the organ and 16.jul.1795 in the future prohibited from playing 'The Storm', 19.may.1800 he resignated from the post, 1797 stating his age as 24 he matriculated and the same year took the degree MusBac at Oxford, 1810 organist of All Saints in Derby, 1824 in Rugeley ; 13.aug.1799 in Milwich he married the reverend's daughter Elizabeth Knight (Milwich c1771-30.oct.1843)
