graduated as teacher from the Seminary in Gmund, teacher in Hohenstadt in Goppingen, then at the Israelitischen Schule in Horb am Neckar, 1867 music teacher at the Stadtischen Musikschule in Rottenburg and organist at the Dom St Martin in Rottenburg, 18.jun.1880 from Rottenburg he sent a letter to Franz Xaver Witt ; son of composer Franz I ; brother of organist/choirmaster Fridolin Balluff (Neuhausen 26.dec.1838-17.mar.1918 Kleinallmendingen) ; 27.nov.1867 in Rottenburg he married Theresia Ulmer and had 4 children, of which 2 died within a year and one aged 32 ; uncle of the composers Franz II, Bernhard and Fridolin
