hornist, 28.jan.1798 baptized together with his brother Dieudonne Francois Auguste at Cathedrale de Notre-Dame in Paris, 1815 residing at 17 rue de Clichy, studied horn with Louis Francois Dauprat at the Conservatoire de Paris, 1820 2d prix horn, after his studies he was hornist of orchestre du Gymnase dramatique in Paris, 1825 hornist and 1837 appointed horn solo at the Opera-Comique, during the full existence of the Gymnase musical militaire he was professor of horn there, he died suddenly at the age of 59 ; son of artist Lambert Mathieu Baneux and Marguerite Reukin ; 6.sep.1815 at Saint-Louis-d'Antin in Paris he married Marie Madeleine Andrieu (Paris 1794-2.aug.1875 Paris) ; father of composer Gustave
