harpsichordist, studied at Milan Conservatory, accademico filarmonico of Anfioni di Verona and Santa Cecilia in Rome, 1819 and 1831 he conducted the orchestra in operas at Teatro della Societa in Rovigo, 1837 he performed as harpsichordist in opera at Teatro della Societa in Rovigo, 1839-1858 maestro comunale di musica (city music master) and 1845 choirmaster of the cathedral in Ferrara, 1846 and 1852 he conducted the orchestra in operas at Teatro Comunale and 1850 at Teatro Bonacossi in Ferrara, 1856 teacher of singing and piano at the Scuola of Accademia Filarmonica in Ferrara, many church compositions had been saved at Archivio del Santo di Padova suggesting he had also been active in Padua ; brother of music teacher Luigi Barbirolli who wrote 'Corso pratico elementare di armonia musicale' ; related to violinist Antonio Barbirolli (Rovigo 1844-1907 London) ; ancestor of John Barbirolli
