organist, 25.apr.1859 baptized by his own father in Westbury, 1881 as professor of music residing with his parents at 21 Albert Park in Bristol, 1886 became Associate of the Royal College of Organists (ARCO), 1891 as music teacher residing with his parents in Bristol Stapleton, 1893-1902 organist of St Stephen's Church in Bristol, he gave organ recitals at Chrystal Palace, 1900-1902 as professor of organ and piano residing at 43 Cobourg Road in Montpelier Bristol ; son of clergyman/curate of St Barnabas William Barclay (York 7.oct.1826-) and Mary Anne Martha Tutton (London Marylebone bap.30.may.1823-) ; 11.oct.1892 aged 33 at St Luke in Bristol Brislington he married the 20 year old Alice Maud Hawkins (Gloucester 1872-1954 Bristol) ; they had 5 children all baptized at St Stephen's of whom three survived: Rufa Maude Mary (13.jan.1894-), Muriel Alise (19.mar.1895-), William Paul Douglas (16.may.1896-)
