organist, Fellow of the Royal College of Organists (FRCO), studied at Birmingham and Midland Institute, BM from Oxford University, 1896-1949 organist and choirmaster of the Jubilee Methodist Church in Tunstall, founder of the Tunstall Clef Club, 1920-1949 lecturer of music appreciation and history at the University of Oxford, adjudicator at competition music festivals, on the comittee of the Methodist Church Music Society, 1934-1949 residing at Westgate 1 Bath Street in Tunstall, 1947 he presented 'The George Baskeyfield Gramophone Reference Library' to Stoke City Corporation, he died at City General Hospital Stoke-on-Trent while residing at 28 Greengates Street in Tunstall ; son of tea dealer/insurance agent John Merrick Baskeyfield (Burslem 1841-17.aug.1913 Tunstall) and Elizabeth Goodwin (Tunstall 1849-18.jan.1886 Tunstall) ; 1902 he married Angelina Hewitt ; 1946 he married Eva Gater
