son of a professor at the College des Bons-Enfants de Reims, studied music with Francois Bazin and Charles Gounod, his fellow students Jules Massenet and Leo Delibes remained his friends, 1856-1892 as musician active in Reims, 1861 he founded Societe Chorale Sainte-Cecile in Reims debuting at Salle Besnard, shortly after he was appointed conductor of the Reims Municipal Music (military harmony), 1860 and 1878 he organized grand concours in Reims, 1889 achieved fame with Sainte-Cecile at the Grand Concours International in Paris, he founded the Cercle des Arts and directed the Union Chorale in Reims, after he had resigned as conductor of the Municipal Music he became bandmaster of the Fanfare des Tonneliers, he was decorated Officier d'Academie, he died in Paris while residing in Reims ; son of Pascal Auguste Prosper Bazin (died 28.jul.1854 Cahors) and Zenais Lucie Josephine Anduze ; 2.sep.1861 in Lyon he married Adeline Augustine Lucie Anduze (Lyon 6.jan.1840-)
