Beancourt, P A [Pierre Antoine] c1777-f1850 France, ? - ?Paris
violinist, conductor, 1795-1803 violinist at Theatre du Vaudeville in Paris, 1803-1814 he had to fulfill military service, 1814 resumed his post as violinist at Theatre du Vaudeville and later as assistant conductor, June 1824 the director Berard appointed him first conductor to a salary of 3000 francs a year but due to the difficulty of the times and the quarrels of the director with the shareholders he never received more than 2000 francs, 1826 when an assistant conductor was appointed who also took over his work at the theatre's music copying office, he resigned and demanded a pension based on 3000 francs, this led to long disputes between the shareholders, the theatre and the Chamber of Commerce but finally in 1830 the Royal Court judged that he was not entitled to receive a pension because the statutes of the theatre allowed a pension after 30 years of service while he had served only 20 years, 1825 residing at Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honore 9 in Paris, 1826-1829 he was conductor at Theatre des Nouveautes in Paris, 1835-1845 at Theatre de la Gaite in Paris
