organist, harpsichordist, editor, arranger, 1772-1788 teacher harpsichord and piano in Paris, 1772-1783 he published a large amount of compositions and arrangements of popular pieces for the harpsichord and piano, 1775 residing at rue Dauphine la premiere porte cochere a droite, en entrant par le Pont neuf (the first carriage gate on the right, entering by the new bridge), 1778 harpsichordist to l'Abbaye royale de Montmartre in Paris, 1783 he entered in private service of Prince de Soubise at his Hotel de Soubise in Paris and ceased publishing music, by 1788 he had received the holy orders, 1791 elected pastor of the parish of Saint-Cyr Yvelines just outside of Paris and lived with his daughter at the rectory until his death, 13.jul.1794 he was sentenced on vague grounds as 'ennemi du peuple' by the Paris Revolutionary Tribunal and guillotined the same day at Place du Throne in Paris ; 1771 he married a Flanders merchant's daughter who died 1779 ; father of ?composer Marie Therese Louise Benaut
