engineer, amateur pianist and composer, as engineer and director he used the name Guglielmo Berner, as composer Amedeo W Berner junior in Italy and Amadeus W Berner in Germany, studied engineering at the University faculty in Zurich, he worked as engineer in the cotton industry of his father in Piedimonte d'Alife near Naples, 1898 he took over the direction, 1918 with WWI and without his father's authority the Berner cotton industry ended and was sold, his music is saved at Conservatorio di musica Giuseppe Verdi in Milan and at Conservatorio di musica S. Cecilia in Rome, he was buried at Cimitero Evangelico degli Allori in Florence

he started as dealer in art and literature for which he traveled Italy, 1850 settled as cotton trader for the Swiss Moser & Co in Naples, 1854 as Commessionario residing at Strada Guantai nuovi 102 in Naples, 1874 he joined and 1888 became director of the cotton company of Giacomo Egg in Piedimonte d'Alife near Naples, in a short time he made the bankrupt company healthy again, built many factory plants and opened a very successful department in Bari, 1891 he also founded a wine company in Naples, 1894 extending it with a wine depot in Casalnuovo di Napoli and built a larger cotton depot in Piedimonte d'Alife, 1898 his son Wilhelm (Guglielmo) Berner (1868-1953) took over the direction of the cotton company, 1899-1910 he was banker in Naples, 1906 of Banca popolare cooperativa di Napoli and Banca commerciale italiana, 1910 of Banca dei comuni vesuviani, 1918 with WWI and without Amedeo's authority the Berner cotton industry ended and was sold
