organist, born at Lee Side and 1860 residing at Cliff Side in Shepley, 1870 as organ builder lodging with cabinet maker George Haigh at Spring Street in Huddersfield, 1873 moved to Glasgow Scotland to become organist of Trinity Congregational Church Glasgow, later of Belhaven Church Glasgow, 1890-1913 residing at 46 Grant Street in Glasgow, 1890 his sister Lizzie (Shepley 1862-) lived with him as housekeeper, after 1890 he married Clara, 18.sep.1904 he inaugurated the new organ at the Church of Tollcross in Glasgow, the following evening he gave an organ recital ; son of fancy weaver/clothier Henry Berry (Shepley 1819-1890 Huddersfield) and traveling clothier Harriet Matthews (Shepley 1821-1902 Huddersfield)
