professor, teacher piano, organ and voice, of German parents, studied with William Mason and singing with George J Webb, 1866 teacher piano and violin and piano tuner in New Philadelphia Tuscarawas, 1868-1872 head of the music department of Beaver Seminary and Musical Institute in Pennsylvania, 1880-1891 private music teacher at his residence 407 West North Street in Bloomington, organist of the Second Presbyterian Church and the Moses Montefiore Temple in Bloomington, 1886 director of the Bloomington Conservatory of Music 204 West North Street, he died aged 48 from pneumonia resulting from the grip (an epidemic because there were many deaths from the grip at that time), he was buried at Massillon City Cemetery Ohio ; 1868 he married Nancy 'Nannie' (Ohio, Massillon 7.feb.1850- ; apparently living on a generous heritage: 1897-1913 alternately living in Massillon and Paris France and 1913-1931 continuously in Paris, after 1931 as tourist also living in England, Belgium, Switzerland and Italy)
