blues guitarist and singer, of African descent, blind from birth, by 1925 he had moved to Chicago, 1926 signed a recording contract with Paramount Records in Grafton Wisconsin, 1931 residing with his wife at 453 McClure Avenue in Elgin Chicago, 1932 after his last recording in Grafton he lost his job because Paramount went bankrupt and remained unemployed until his death, 1932-1933 residing with his wife at 621 West Brown Street Milwaukee, died on the way from his last residence 1844 North 10th Street to Milwaukee County Emergency Hospital, buried at Evergreen (Glen Oaks) Cemetery in Glendale Wisconsin ; son of Winter Blake and Alice ; by 1930 in Chicago he had married Beatrice McGee (Missouri 1888-23.may.1953 Milwaukee)
