pianist, choral conductor, studied composition with Bernard Zweers, founder of the double male quartet Inter Nos in Haarlem, 1920-1957 conductor of male chorus Caecilia in Haarlem which 1948 acquired the predicate Koninklijk Mannenkoor (Royal Male Choir), 8.may.1945 after the liberation he gave a concert with Caecilia at De Dreef in Haarlem to honor the 17 freedom fighters who had been shot there, 1917-1945 founder/conductor of Haarlemsch Klein a Capella koor, founder/director of Haarlems Muziekinstituut Wilhelminastraat no.51, 1.aug.1964 buried at Westerveld cemetery in Velsen ; father of piano teacher Frieda Hoogerwerf Brackman (Haarlem 1924-2006 Hengelo)
