gipsy violinist, bandleader, 1932 played in the Rajko orchestra, 1947 formed his own band, 1952 leader of the folk band Ministry of Artistic Singing, 1958 formed a new band which played at the rebuilt Fortuna restaurant, 1971 made a six-week US tour with a seven-piece band, 1976 played in Detroit, 1978 played for six months at a newly opened restaurant in Budapest, 1000 musicians came to play at his funeral which was attended by 10000 people from across the world
