Laussel, Adam (pseud: Adam-Laussel) 30.jul.1845-28.feb.1893 France Herault, Clermont - Yonne, Saint-Florentin
pianist, organist, teacher, studied with Camille Saint-Saens, studied at Ecole de Musique Religieuse Niedermyer in Paris, 1861 1er prix in piano, 2e accessit in organ and accessit in composition, 1862 2e prix in organ, 1872 professor of piano at Ecole Niedermeyer, 1877 he won the first prize Medaille d'Or for his cantata 'Maguelonne' in an open competition by the Societe des Compositeurs Paris, 1882 he resided in Nice and deliberately avoided Paris, 1882 he won first prize for a Fantaisie de piano in a competition by Societe des Compositeurs, he was held in high esteem as pianist and composer by Camille Saint-Saens, he published only a few of his compositions (about 15) even though all of his compositions were good enough to have them published posthumously (over 50), 1892 as organist or organ teacher residing at 80 rue Blanche Paris, 10.mar.1893 buried at Cimetiere du Sud in Paris in a grave by Aloys Cellier with bronze lyre and music book
