Miller, Bernard 'Bernie' 22.sep.1919-28.jan.1946 USA, Washington DC - Washington DC
jewish pianist, 1920 residing with his parents at 37 16th Street in Washington DC, 1930 at 584 8th Street, 1935-1940 as musician and clerk at his fathers grocery shop residing with his parents at 1327 Taylor Street, 29.aug.1939 he returned from Le Havre France from a visit to Europe, probably for musical study although by 1940 his only finished education had been 4 years High School, 1941 he was active as musician and music teacher in Washington DC, 3.mar.1941 he was enlisted in military service at Baltimore Maryland, the cause of his early death at the age of 26 remains a mistery but may have been related to his military service (the lack of a death notice or obituary may also indicate a suicide), and the reason why his copyrights were transferred to his wife even before his death and why copyrights were renewed to his name in 1973 is remarkable but may have been simply administrative and heir issues ; son of grocery retailer Max Miller (Poland 1886-) and Lena (Poland 1890-) ; after 1941 he married Ruby Bodankin (Washington DC 30.may.1923-16.dec.1996 Maryland, Silver Spring) stepdaughter of Morris and Lillian Engle
