harpist, 1881 aged 5 studied harp under Alphonse Hasselmans and 1887 aged 12 won 1st prize in harp at the Conservatoire de Paris, studied composition with Charles Lenepveu and Theodore Dubois, she taught harp at the Conservatoire de Paris and founded a harp school which gained international reputation
