contralto singer, resided most of her life in Johnson City, 1910 at 201 Pine Street, 1914-1940 at 415 East Holston Avenue, 1930 resided for some time at South Main Street in Spring Hill Tennessee and 1934 in Mars Hill North Carolina, around 1932 she also spent some of the winter times in Columbia South Carolina where her sons David King Jr. and Charles both Cadet were studying at the Columbia Military Academy, 2.apr.1935 introduced by senator Sam R Howell she sang her 'My Tennessee' to the Senate in Nashville, 5.jun.1936 she sang at the Crystal Ball Room of Hotel Bristol at the dinner and leap year dance of the Kingsport Business and Professional Women's Club, she was buried at Monte Vista Memorial Park in Johnson City ; daughter of farmer Elisha Mark Hannah (Virginia, Roanoke 22.aug.1835-22.jul.1927 Johnson City) and Alice Josephine Barr (Tennessee, Sullivan near Johnson City 6.feb.1851-17.oct.1918 Johnson City) ; 9.mar.1903 in Johnson City she married merchant clothing and president of Fountain Square Furniture Co. David King Tranum (Tennessee, Bristol 4.feb.1878-21.may.1939 Johnson City)
